Sud Est SE.210-3 Caravelle c/n 241
Historical data / Données historiques
  • First flight: 21.1.1969
  • this aircraft was delivered initially to LHR for initial planning work to convert the aircraft interior for VIP use by the late President Tito of Jugoslavia. As a matter of fact I thought it was a type VI R not N as stated. After a few weeks at LHR,
it was repositioned to East Midlands Airport here in UK, where the conversion and VIP interior was designed and installed.
Later in 1969, it was collected by the operator JAT who would operate it on behalf of the Jugoslav Air Force. I was Chief Planning Engineer for the project and was made responsibnle for the final Quality Control inspection of the finished aircraft.
