SE.210 Caaravelle 3 (c/n 047) OY-KRD here on display at Billund, has been
transferred to the new museum in Elsinore (40 km north of
Copenhagen).
The story relle that this aircraft was withdrawn from
service in 1974, and was stored for 16 years at Copenhagen Airport. It was
looked after by some pensioners from SAS technical Dept. In 1990 it was
transported by ship direct from the seaside of Copenhagen Airport to
Fredericia in Jutland and then by truck to Billund Airport for display at
the local aviation museum. When Billund aviation museum closed it was once
more transferred by ship back to Elsinore, where it is now on display at
the new museum (The museum opened its doors on May 6th 2000) |
